We first met one another in an interview room when working for the Visual team at Debenhams. Month's later we began creating the idea of Thistle and Thread, when we both realised event styling was something we had both wanted to pursue but the timing was never right for either of us.

Since then, we have covered an array of events from Weddings, Birthday celebrations, Christenings, Baby showers, Hen parties, and collaboration shoots with venues and restaurants.

We aim to provide a bespoke package to each of our clients, tailoring it to their exact expectations, and also adding in some surprise elements along the way that make it a personalised experience.

We also love nothing more than a good challenge and thrive off the spontaneity of clients coming to us with crazy wild visions of how they want their day to look-We like to try make the impossible happen!

Hi my name is Hannah. I live in the South Lake District and spend most of my free time exploring it! I have a Degree in Media, Makeup and Photography, and have always been a creative person from an early age.

My first experience of styling events was when Janie and I first created Thistle and Thread together, and I've never looked back since. I love the start to finish process of planning and styling every event we do, especially adding in all those tiny details that are personal to our clients which make their day extra special. You will most likely find me either behind a Camera silently capturing away, or up ladders covered in foliage, shouting for Janie's help whilst I cling on for dear life; there's no in-between (and I wouldn't have it any other way)

Hi my name is Janie, I live in the South Lake District, with my Husband and 5 year old Son.

I have always had an interest in dressing and styling events, which first started off as a hobby where I would decorate events for friends and family. I knew this was something that I wanted to do full time, so I furthered my interest and gained a diploma in Wedding and Event Coordination, and spent a number of years working within the hospitality and event sector. It wasn't until that I met Hannah, that we decided to team up professionally, which then Thistle and Thread was created.
